eCommerce Editor

We are seeking an eCommerce Editor to spearhead the strategic direction of commerce across our U.S. editorial properties, and handle the day-to-day production of commerce content.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent writer and have superb analytical skills – their key function will be to funnel audience to compelling commerce content and continually optimize to drive product sales. The role will require the editor to own the entire lifecycle of a commerce post from ideation and creation, to distribution and tracking analytics.

You will be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and have an entrepreneurial spirit. You'll also have a strong understanding of best in market tactics for integrating commerce, particularly affiliate sales, in an editorial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Define commerce content strategy for our brands in a manner that is consistent with each publication’s voice and demographic.
  • Create and execute an editorial forward planning calendar.
  • Source and create both short and long-form commerce content (news, product reviews, buyer’s guides). Approximately 10-15 per week.
  • Own the content distribution channels and be responsible for all content planning for promotion
  • Track performance metrics of commerce across all content and platforms, and iterate based on findings.
  • Research and execute SEO/keyword opportunities.
  • Create/maintain relationships with key publicists and marketers.
  • This position will report to the VP of Editorial and work closely with the VP of Business Development at Bauer Xcel.

Qualifications

  • Strong writing skills.
  • Background in product journalism or eCommerce industry.
  • Strong knowledge of SEO and social media strategies.
  • Ability to utilize and analyze Google Analytics data to optimize content.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Extremely organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Passion for digital media and Bauer Xcel's brands.
  • Minimum of 2 years commerce experience, 3-5 years publishing experience.
